Theo of Golden
Allen Levi

Published in 2025, this unique allegorical novel begins when a seemingly wealthy stranger named Theo arrives in a United States small southern city named Golden. He doesn't explain where he came from or why he's there. He visits the local coffeehouse, where pencil portraits of the Golden community residents hang on the walls.  He begins purchasing them, one at a time, and gives each portrait to the person depicted. In exchange, he asks only for the person's story. Portrait by portrait, he learns about each person: their history, secrets and regrets. In this exchange, their lives are profoundly altered. This is a memorable novel about the power of generosity, the importance of connections, and the miracles that may happen when we open our hearts to kindness, generosity and wonder.

This extraordinary, beloved novel has sold more than one million copies so far and won many awards.
